Collage Camp Is Coming!

Monday August 28 - Friday September 1

Gather around the picnic table with your favorite supplies and lets PLAY!

Join me as we squeeze every last bit of summer sun. From your favorite corner or your sunny studio, you’re invited to gather around the picnic table for your own mini art retreat.

Get ready to kickstart your creativity in just a few minutes a day.

Registration is closed. Click below to sign up for future creative offerings and get a free collage prompt worksheet.

Collage Camp includes:

  • daily Camp mail: Check your inbox each day of camp for a short video prompt to guide your studio practice. Camp mail is designed to fit into your day, even if you only have 15 minutes to dedicate to your creative play (though there will be plenty of inspiration if you can give yourself longer).

  • Field Guide: Along with your first Collage Camp prompt, you’ll receive your Field Guide—a printable PDF that includes the techniques and prompts referenced in your daily Camp Mail alongside printable collage elements you can use throughout the week.

  • Campfire Connection: We’ll cap off our week together with a live virtual gathering to share our creations, connect with fellow collagists, and create together. If you can’t make it, a replay will be sent after campers convene.

 Day 1

Gathering Supplies

Just like a camp nature walk, we’ll explore our surroundings and see our environments with fresh eyes, abundant with materials for collage.

Day 2

Creating Your Own Collage Materials

We’ll get crafty, making our own bits and bobs that we can cut, remix, tear, and make new when we collage with it the next day.

Day 3

Cut and Arrange

We’ll start making our messes, juxtaposing different elements together and exploring a variety of techniques for making our collages.

Day 4

Glue and Play!

The fun continues as we start to glue things down and create interesting compositions with collage. We’ll layer, remix, and experiment.

Day 5

Live Virtual Gathering

Let’s explore together! We’ll gather for show and tell, Q&A, and connect with one another virtually. A replay will be available.
Friday, August 24 • 1pm EDT

 This is for you if:

  • You’re a creative entrepreneur giving your all for your clients, students, or customers and you’d like to carve a little time for your own creativity.

  • You're curious about collage or a simple way to make art for yourself.

  • You’re craving a little creative connection or kickstart and you just need a boost of artful energy to reset.

  • You just want to have FUN!

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just creatively curious, you don’t have to have any certain skills or background to get something out of collage camp.

You just need to set aside the time and space during the week of camp and let your curiosity guide you.

Via Skillshare, Mindful Mark Making Class

I love the exercises in this class and how you can use it as a morning practice, to get out of your own way, calm down, and as a warm-up. Thank you for expanding my ideas!

The techniques Nikkita explores could be easily approached and enjoyed by all skill levels. If you feel intimidated by starting a daily sketchbook practice this class will definitely calm that fear and make it a calming and grounding moment in your day.

Questions?

  • The beauty of collage is you can repurpose almost anything for what you create. You’ll need some type of paper (loose or sketchbook), something to draw or paint with, glue, and a variety of papers to collage with. You can get creative with what you already have!

  • I believe we can all embrace our inner artists, but you don’t have to consider yourself one to join Collage Camp! The beauty of collage is you don’t even have to know how to draw—if you can cut paper shapes and glue, you can collage. And I’ll show you techniques to make something you’re excited about.

  • Yes! Though I’d love to see you live, I know that timezones and schedules can make attending live events tricky. I’ll send out a link to the replay for anyone who can’t make it or simply wants to relive the live event. You’ll have everything you need with the Field Guide and daily prompts—this is just an opportunity to connect after a fun week.

  • Trying something new is always better with a friend! The bring a friend option is a great way to increase your courage and have fun together while still connecting with others. And in appreciation of that, you can band together and bring a friend for an additional $10.

  • The daily camp mail videos are intentionally short (usually under 15 minutes) with a small, simple action you can take so that even if you’re busy you can keep up with camp. But if you have more freedom with your schedule, I encourage you to carve out at least an hour each day to make this like a mini retreat for yourself to cultivate your creativity.

The live gathering will last approximately 1 hour.
